In order to encourage food donations to Waste Not Want Not, we must be able to assure our donor organizations that their donations will be used for charitable purposes and will not result directly in decreased sales. In addition, since most of the items Waste Not Want Not receives are perishable and must be used promptly, timely and efficient distribution of donated items is essential to our mission.
Therefore:
- donations given to Waste Not Want Not for distribution will only be shared with 501(c) charities;
- recipient organizations must agree to use items received from Waste Not for ONLY Charitable Purposes (used in its generally acceptable legal sense, which includes relief of the poor, the distressed or the underprivileged; advancement of education; lessening the burdens of government; and combating community deterioration and juvenile delinquency);
- recipient organizations must agree to not redistribute items received to any other organization; and
- recipient organizations must agree to adhere to the recipient schedule or notify Waste Not Want in advance if unable to do so.
